At Burra Bears we are often asked to make bespoke Memory Bears from customers own knitted garments; we are more than happy to do this and feel honoured to be entrusted with a treasured item of clothing - we like to think of these special bears being passed down to future generations.

Memory bears are truly unique and individual and make the perfect gift to commemorate that special occasion or to mark a milestone in someone's life.

A Memory Bear made from a sentimental garment can also be a gentle lasting way to remember a loved one that has been lost.

Meet Lizzie o’ Roseville and Johnnie o’ Burravoe, made from a Fair Isle edge cardigan and bonnet belonging to my customers Grandmother who was a keen knitter, they have been transformed into Burra Bears as a keepsake for herself and her brother, and a little reminder of a much loved Granny.

A beautiful hand knitted Shetland Lace christening shawl and traditional Fair Isle jumper, sent on to be transformed into 4 Burra Bears that will live on and be passed down through the the generations for many years to come. What a lovely job I have!
